Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

We’re looking for a strong, hands-on Software Engineer to join our core engineering team and help build Orion’s product. This is a builder role for engineers who enjoy working across the stack, taking ownership, and solving real problems in a fast-moving cybersecurity startup.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain product features across backend, frontend, and infrastructure
• Take ownership of projects end to end, from design to production
• Work closely with product, security, and design on core capabilities
• Collaborate directly with customers to debug issues and improve the product
• Build scalable, reliable systems in a cloud-native environment
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical direction
• Help shape engineering best practices as we scale

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer (backend, full-stack, or systems)
• Strong fundamentals in software design, data structures, and system architecture
• Experience building production systems in modern tech stacks
• Comfort working across the stack (you don’t have to be an expert in everything)
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Ownership mindset and ability to operate independently
• Interest in security, infrastructure, or complex technical domains

Nice to Have

• Experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure, or developer tools
• Experience in early-stage or high-growth startups
• Familiarity with distributed systems, APIs, or data pipelines
